Conductance
The conductance represented by a population of ionic channels is pictured as a variable resistor with an adjustable cursor that can be used to modify the value of the total resistance. Thus, when the cursor is down, (left) the resistance is high (small conductance) and when is all the way up (right) the resistance is small (high conductance).
The current intensity through the resistance is represented by the gray level inside the variable resistor. Maximum intensity is black and minumum intensity is white.
